1	وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
Transliteration 1:	Waalssamai thati alburooji
Yusuf Ali 1:	By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs;
Shakir 1:	I swear by the mansions of the stars,
Pickthal 1:	By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars,
Mohsin Khan: 1:	By the heaven holding the big stars.
French 1:	Par le ciel aux constellations!
Spanish 1:	¡Por el cielo con sus constelaciones!
Indonesian 1:	Demi langit yang mempunyai gugusan bintang,
Melayu 1:	Demi langit yang mempunyai tempat-tempat peredaran bintang-bintang;

Bosnian 1:	Tako mi neba sazviježđima okićenog
Urdu 1:	آسمان کی قسم ہے جس میں برج ہیں
2	وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ
Transliteration 2:	Waalyawmi almawAAoodi
Yusuf Ali 2:	By the promised Day (of Judgment);
Shakir 2:	And the promised day,
Pickthal 2:	And by the Promised Day.
Mohsin Khan: 2:	And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).
French 2:	et par le jour promis!
Spanish 2:	¡Por el día con que se ha amenazado!
Indonesian 2:	dan hari yang dijanjikan,
Melayu 2:	Dan hari (pembalasan) yang dijanjikan;
German 2:	und beim verheißenen Tage,

Bosnian 2:	i Dana već određenog,
Urdu 2:	اوراس دن کی جس کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے
3	وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
Transliteration 3:	Washahidin wamashhoodin
Yusuf Ali 3:	By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;-
Shakir 3:	And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne.
Pickthal 3:	And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony,
Mohsin Khan: 3:	And by the Witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the Witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah];
French 3:	et par le témoin et ce dont on témoigne!
Spanish 3:	¡Por el testigo y lo atestiguado!
Indonesian 3:	dan yang menyaksikan dan yang disaksikan.

Urdu 3:	اور اس دن کی جو حاضر ہوتا ہے اور اس کی جس کے پاس حاضر ہوتے ہیں
4	قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ
Transliteration 4:	Qutila ashabu alukhdoodi
Yusuf Ali 4:	Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire),
Shakir 4:	Cursed be the makers of the pit,
Pickthal 4:	(Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch
Mohsin Khan: 4:	Cursed were the people of the Ditch (in the story of the Boy and the King).
French 4:	Périssent les gens de l'Ukhdoud,
Spanish 4:	¡Malditos sean los hombres del Foso,
Indonesian 4:	Binasa dan terlaknatlah orang-orang yang membuat parit .

5	النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ
Transliteration 5:	Alnnari thati alwaqoodi
Yusuf Ali 5:	Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel:
Shakir 5:	Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel,
Pickthal 5:	Of the fuel-fed fire,
Mohsin Khan: 5:	Of fire fed with fuel,
French 5:	par le feu plein de combustible,
Spanish 5:	del fuego bien alimentado,
Indonesian 5:	yang berapi (dinyalakan dengan) kayu bakar,
Melayu 5:	(Parit) api yang penuh dengan bahan bakaran,
German 5:	des Feuers, mit seinem Brennstoff.
Russian 5:	огненного, поддерживаемого растопкой,
Bosnian 5:	i vatrom i gorivom ih napunili,
Urdu 5:	جس میں آگ تھی بہت ایندھن والی
6	إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
Transliteration 6:	Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun
Yusuf Ali 6:	Behold! they sat over against the (fire),
Shakir 6:	When they sat by it,
Pickthal 6:	When they sat by it,
Mohsin Khan: 6:	When they sat by it (fire),
French 6:	cependant qu'ils étaient assis tout autour,
Spanish 6:	sentados a él,

Urdu 6:	جب کہ وہ اس کے کنارو ں پر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے
7	وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
Transliteration 7:	Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodun
Yusuf Ali 7:	And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers.
Shakir 7:	And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers.
Pickthal 7:	And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers.
Mohsin Khan: 7:	And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them).
French 7:	ils étaient ainsi témoins de ce qu'ils faisaient des croyants,
Spanish 7:	dando testimonio de lo que ellos han hecho a los creyentes,
Indonesian 7:	sedang mereka menyaksikan apa yang mereka perbuat terhadap orang-orang yang beriman.
Melayu 7:	Sambil mereka melihat apa yang mereka lakukan kepada orang-orang yang beriman.
German 7:	Und sie werden das bezeugen, was sie den Gläubigen angetan haben.
Russian 7:	будучи свидетелями того, что творят с верующими.
Bosnian 7:	i bili svjedoci onoga što su vjernici radili!
Urdu 7:	اور وہ ایمانداروں سے جو کچھ کر رہے تھے اس کو دیکھ رہے تھے
8	وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَن يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
Transliteration 8:	Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi
Yusuf Ali 8:	And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!-
Shakir 8:	And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised,
Pickthal 8:	They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise,
Mohsin Khan: 8:	And they had no fault except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!
French 8:	à qui ils ne leur reprochaient que d'avoir cru en Allah, le Puissant, le Digne de louange,
Spanish 8:	resentidos con ellos sólo porque creyeron en Alá, el Poderoso, el Digno de Alabanza,
Indonesian 8:	Dan mereka tidak menyiksa orang-orang mu'min itu melainkan karena orang-orang mu'min itu beriman kepada Allah Yang Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Terpuji,
Melayu 8:	Dan mereka tidak marah dan menyeksakan orang-orang yang beriman itu melainkan kerana orang-orang itu beriman kepada Allah Yang Maha Kuasa, lagi Maha Terpuji!
German 8:	Und sie grollten ihnen nur deshalb, weil sie an Allah glaubten, den Erhabenen, den Preiswürdigen,
Russian 8:	Они вымещали им только за то, что те уверовали в Аллаха Могущественного, Достохвального,
Bosnian 8:	A svetili su im se samo zato što su u Allaha, Silnoga i Hvale dostojnoga, vjerovali,
Urdu 8:	اور ان سے اسی کا توبدلہ لے رہے تھے کہ وہ الله زبردست خوبیوں والے پر ایمان لائے تھے
9	الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
Transliteration 9:	Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun
Yusuf Ali 9:	Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things.
Shakir 9:	Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things.
Pickthal 9:	Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness.
Mohsin Khan: 9:	To Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything.
French 9:	Auquel appartient la royauté des cieux et de la terre. Allah est témoin de toute chose.
Spanish 9:	a Quien pertenece el dominio de los cielos y de la tierra. Alá es testigo de todo.
Indonesian 9:	Yang mempunyai kerajaan langit dan bumi dan Allah Maha Menyaksikan segala sesuatu.
Melayu 9:	Tuhan yang menguasai segala alam langit dan bumi dan (ingatlah), Allah sentiasa menyaksikan tiap-tiap sesuatu.
German 9:	Dem das Königreich der Himmel und der Erde gehört; und Allah ist Zeuge von allem.
Russian 9:	Которому принадлежит власть над небесами и землей. Аллах – Cвидетель всякой вещи!
Bosnian 9:	čija je vlast i na nebesima i na Zemlji - a Allah je svemu Svjedok.
Urdu 9:	وہ کہ جس کے قبضہ میں آسمان اور زمین ہیں اور الله ہر چیز پر شاہد ہے
10	إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ
Transliteration 10:	Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi
Yusuf Ali 10:	Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire.
Shakir 10:	Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning.
Pickthal 10:	Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning.
Mohsin Khan: 10:	Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance (to Allah), then they will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire.
French 10:	Ceux qui font subir des épreuves aux croyants et aux croyantes, puis ne se repentent pas, auront le châtiment de l'Enfer et le supplice du feu.
Spanish 10:	Quienes sometan a los creyentes y a las creyentes a una prueba y no se arrepientan luego, tendrán el castigo de la gehena, el castigo de su fuego.
Indonesian 10:	Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang mendatangkan cobaan kepada orang-orang yang mu'min laki-laki dan perempuan kemudian mereka tidak bertaubat, maka bagi mereka azab Jahannam dan bagi mereka azab (neraka) yang membakar.
Melayu 10:	Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang menimpakan bencana untuk memesongkan orang-orang lelaki yang beriman dan orang-orang perempuan yang beriman, kemudian mereka tidak bertaubat, maka mereka akan beroleh azab Neraka Jahannam (kerana perbuatan buruk itu) dan mereka akan beroleh lagi azab api yang kuat membakar (kerana mereka tidak bertaubat).
German 10:	Diejenigen, die die gläubigen Männer und die gläubigen Frauen heimsuchen und es dann nicht bereuen - für sie ist die Strafe der Dschahannam, und für sie ist die Strafe des Brennens (bestimmt).
Russian 10:	Тем, которые подвергли искушению верующих мужчин и женщин и не раскаялись, уготованы мучения в Геенне, мучения от обжигающего Огня.
Bosnian 10:	One koji vjernike i vjernice budu na muke stavljali pa se ne budu pokajali - čeka patnja u Džehennemu i isto tako prženje u ognju,
Urdu 10:	بے شک جنہوں نے ایمان دار مردوں اور ایمان دار عورتوں کو ستایا پھر توبہ نہ کی تو ان کے لیے جہنم کا عذاب ہے اور ان کے لیے جلانے والا عذاب ہے
11	إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۚ ذَ‌ٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ
Transliteration 11:	Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru
Yusuf Ali 11:	For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires),
Shakir 11:	Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement.
Pickthal 11:	Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success.
Mohsin Khan: 11:	Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success.
French 11:	Ceux qui croient et accomplissent les bonnes oeuvres auront des Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux. Cela est le grand succès.
Spanish 11:	Quienes, en cambio, hayan creído y obrado bien tendrán jardines por cuyos bajos fluyen arroyos. ¡Ese es el gran éxito!
Indonesian 11:	Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman dan mengerjakan amal-amal yang saleh bagi mereka surga yang mengalir di bawahnya sungai-sungai; itulah keberuntungan yang besar.
Melayu 11:	Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal soleh, mereka akan beroleh Syurga yang mengalir di bawahnya beberapa sungai; yang demikian itu ialah kemenangan yang besar.
German 11:	Doch jene, die glauben und gute Werke tun - für sie sind Gärten, durch die Bäche fließen, (bestimmt). Das ist der größte Gewinn.
Russian 11:	Тем же, которые уверовали и совершали праведные деяния, уготованы Райские сады, в которых текут реки. Это – великое преуспеяние!
Bosnian 11:	a one koji budu vjerovali i dobra djela činili čekaju bašče džennetske kroz koje će rijeke teći a to će veliki uspjeh biti.
Urdu 11:	بے شک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے نیک کام بھی کیے ان کے لیے باغ ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے
12	إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Transliteration 12:	Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun
Yusuf Ali 12:	Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord.
Shakir 12:	Surely the might of your Lord is great.
Pickthal 12:	Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern.
Mohsin Khan: 12:	Verily, (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) the Seizure (punishment) of your Lord is severe and painful. [See V.11:102].
French 12:	La riposte de ton Seigneur est redoutable.
Spanish 12:	¡Sí, es duro el rigor de tu Señor!
Indonesian 12:	Sesungguhnya azab Tuhanmu benar-benar keras.
Melayu 12:	Sesungguhnya azab Tuhanmu (terhadap orang-orang yang kufur ingkar) amatlah berat.
German 12:	Wahrlich, die Rache deines Herrn ist enorm.
Russian 12:	Воистину, Хватка твоего Господа сурова!
Bosnian 12:	Odmazda Gospodara tvoga će, zaista, užasna biti!
Urdu 12:	بے شک تیرے رب کی پکڑ بھی سخت ہے
13	إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Transliteration 13:	Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeedu
Yusuf Ali 13:	It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life).
Shakir 13:	Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces,
Pickthal 13:	Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth,
Mohsin Khan: 13:	Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection).
French 13:	C'est Lui, certes, qui commence (la création) et la refait.
Spanish 13:	Él crea y re-crea.
Indonesian 13:	Sesungguhnya Dia-lah Yang menciptakan (makhluk) dari permulaan dan menghidupkannya (kembali).
Melayu 13:	Sesungguhnya Dialah yang menciptakan (sekalian makhluk) pada mulanya dan yang mengembalikannya (hidup semula sesudah mati).
German 13:	Er ist es, Der erschafft und wiederkehren läßt.
Russian 13:	Воистину, Он начинает и повторяет (создает творение в первый раз и воссоздает его или начинает наказывать и повторяет наказание).
Bosnian 13:	On iz ničega stvara, i ponovo će to učiniti;
Urdu 13:	بے شک وہی پہلے پیدا کرتا ہے اور دوبارہ پیدا کرے گا
14	وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
Transliteration 14:	Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu
Yusuf Ali 14:	And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness,
Shakir 14:	And He is the Forgiving, the Loving,
Pickthal 14:	And He is the Forgiving, the Loving,
Mohsin Khan: 14:	And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism),
French 14:	Et c'est Lui le Pardonneur, le Tout Affectueux,
Spanish 14:	Él es el Indulgente, el Lleno de Amor,
Indonesian 14:	Dia-lah Yang Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Pengasih,
Melayu 14:	Dan Dialah Yang Maha Pengampun, lagi Maha Pengasih.
German 14:	Und Er ist der Allvergebende, der Liebvolle,
Russian 14:	Он – Прощающий, Любящий (или Любимый),
Bosnian 14:	I on prašta, i pun je ljubavi,
Urdu 14:	اور وہی ہے بخشنے والا محبت کرنے والا
15	ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ
Transliteration 15:	Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi
Yusuf Ali 15:	Lord of the Throne of Glory,
Shakir 15:	Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious,
Pickthal 15:	Lord of the Throne of Glory,
Mohsin Khan: 15:	Owner of the throne, the Glorious,
French 15:	Le Maître du Tròne, le Tout Glorieux,
Spanish 15:	el Señor del Trono, el Glorioso,
Indonesian 15:	yang mempunyai 'Arsy lagi Maha Mulia,
Melayu 15:	Tuhan yang mempunyai Arasy yang tinggi kemuliaannya,
German 15:	Der Herr des Ruhmvollen Throns.
Russian 15:	Владыка Трона, Славный.
Bosnian 15:	Gospodar svemira, Uzvišeni,
Urdu 15:	عرش کا مالک بڑی شان والا
16	فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Transliteration 16:	FaAAAAalun lima yureedu
Yusuf Ali 16:	Doer (without let) of all that He intends.
Shakir 16:	The great doer of what He will.
Pickthal 16:	Doer of what He will.
Mohsin Khan: 16:	(He is the) Doer of whatsoever He intends (or wills).
French 16:	Il réalise parfaitement tout ce qu'Il veut.
Spanish 16:	Que siempre hace lo que quiere.
Indonesian 16:	Maha Kuasa berbuat apa yang dikehendaki-Nya.

17	هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ
Transliteration 17:	Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi
Yusuf Ali 17:	Has the story reached thee, of the forces-
Shakir 17:	Has not there come to you the story of the hosts,
Pickthal 17:	Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts
Mohsin Khan: 17:	Has the story reached you of the hosts,
French 17:	T'est-il parvenu le récit des armées,
Spanish 17:	¿Te has enterado de la historia de los ejércitos,
Indonesian 17:	Sudahkah datang kepadamu berita kaum-kaum penentang,
Melayu 17:	Sudahkah sampai kepadamu (wahai Muhammad) perihal (kebinasaan yang telah menimpa) kaum-kaum yang menentang (Rasul-rasul yang diutuskan kepada mereka)?
German 17:	Hat die Geschichte von den Heerscharen dich erreicht,
Russian 17:	Дошел ли до тебя рассказ о воинствах,
Bosnian 17:	Da li je doprla do tebe vijest o vojskama,
Urdu 17:	کیا آپ کے پاس لشکروں کا حال پہنچا
18	فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
Transliteration 18:	FirAAawna wathamooda
Yusuf Ali 18:	Of Pharaoh and the Thamud?
Shakir 18:	Of Firon and Samood?
Pickthal 18:	Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud?
Mohsin Khan: 18:	Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud?
French 18:	de Pharaon, et de Tamud?
Spanish 18:	de Faraón y de los tamudeos?
Indonesian 18:	(yaitu kaum) Fir'aun dan (kaum) Tsamud?
Melayu 18:	(Mereka itu ialah kaum) Firaun dan Thamud (kaum Nabi Soleh).
German 18:	von Pharao und den Thamud?
Russian 18:	о Фараоне и самудянах?
Bosnian 18:	o faraonu i Semudu?
Urdu 18:	فرعون اور ثمود کے
19	بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ
Transliteration 19:	Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin
Yusuf Ali 19:	And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)!
Shakir 19:	Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth.
Pickthal 19:	Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial
Mohsin Khan: 19:	Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Message of Islamic Monotheism).
French 19:	Mais ceux qui ne croient pas persistent à démentir,
Spanish 19:	Los infieles, no obstante, persisten en desmentir,
Indonesian 19:	Sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir selalu mendustakan,
Melayu 19:	(Kaummu wahai Muhammad, bukan sahaja menolak ajaranmu), bahkan orang-orang yang kafir itu terus tenggelam dalam keadaan mendustakan kebenaran;
German 19:	Nein, aber die Ungläubigen bestehen auf dem Leugnen;
Russian 19:	Неверующие считают это ложью,
Bosnian 19:	Ali, ovi koji neće da vjeruju stalno poriču -
Urdu 19:	بلکہ منکر تو جھٹلانے میں لگے ہوئے ہیں
20	وَاللَّهُ مِن وَرَائِهِم مُّحِيطٌ
Transliteration 20:	WaAllahu min waraihim muheetun
Yusuf Ali 20:	But Allah doth encompass them from behind!
Shakir 20:	And Allah encompasses them on every side.
