| Transliteration 2: | Ahasiba alnnasu an yutrakoo an yaqooloo amanna wahum la yuftanoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 2: | Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? | |
| Shakir 2: | Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, We believe, and not be tried? | |
| Pickthal 2: | Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction? | |

| 3 | وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ | |
| Transliteration 3: | Walaqad fatanna allatheena min qablihim falayaAAlamanna Allahu allatheena sadaqoo walayaAAlamanna alkathibeena | |
| Yusuf Ali 3: | We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. | |
| Shakir 3: | And certainly We tried those before them, so Allah will certainly know those who are true and He will certainly know the liars. | |
| Pickthal 3: | Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 3: | And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test). | |

| Transliteration 4: | Am hasiba allatheena yaAAmaloona alssayyiati an yasbiqoona saa ma yahkumoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 4: | Do those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment! | |
| Shakir 4: | Or do they who work evil think that they will escape Us? Evil is it that they judge! | |
| Pickthal 4: | Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us? Evil (for them) is that which they decide. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 4: | Or think those who do evil deeds that they can outstrip Us (i.e. escape Our punishment)? Evil is that which they judge! | |

| Transliteration 5: | Man kana yarjoo liqaa Allahi fainna ajala Allahi laatin wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu | |
| Yusuf Ali 5: | For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things). | |
| Shakir 5: | Whoever hopes to meet Allah, the term appointed by Allah will then most surely come; and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. | |
| Pickthal 5: | Whoso looketh forward to the meeting with Allah (let him know that) Allah's reckoning is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer, the Knower. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 5: | Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. | |

| Transliteration 6: | Waman jahada fainnama yujahidu linafsihi inna Allaha laghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena | |
| Yusuf Ali 6: | And if any strive (with might and main), they do so for their own souls: for Allah is free of all needs from all creation. | |
| Shakir 6: | And whoever strives hard, he strives only for his own soul; most surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above (need of) the worlds. | |
| Pickthal 6: | And whosoever striveth, striveth only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 6: | And whosoever strives, he strives only for himself. Verily, Allah stands not in need of any of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists). | |

| 7 | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ | |
| Transliteration 7: | Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanukaffiranna AAanhum sayyiatihim walanajziyannahum ahsana allathee kanoo yaAAmaloona | |
| Yusuf Ali 7: | Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds. | |
| Shakir 7: | And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most certainly do away with their evil deeds and We will most certainly reward them the best of what they did. | |
| Pickthal 7: | And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall remit from them their evil deeds and shall repay them the best that they did. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 7: | Those who believe [in the Oneness of Allah (Monotheism) and in Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم , and do not give up their faith because of the harm they receive from the polytheists], and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall expiate from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do. | |

| 8 | وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۖ وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۚ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |
| Transliteration 8: | Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi husnan wain jahadaka litushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhuma ilayya marjiAAukum faonabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona | |
| Yusuf Ali 8: | We have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth) of all that ye did. | |
| Shakir 8: | And We have enjoined on man goodness to his parents, and if they contend with you that you should associate (others) with Me, of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, to Me is your return, so I will inform you of what you did. | |

Hanya kepada-Ku-lah kembalimu, lalu Aku kabarkan kepadamu apa yang telah kamu kerjakan. | |
| Melayu 8: | Dan Kami wajibkan manusia berbuat baik kepada kedua ibu bapanya dan jika mereka berdua mendesakmu supaya engkau mempersekutukan Daku (dalam ibadatmu) dengan sesuatu yang engkau tidak mempunyai pengetahuan mengenainya, maka janganlah engkau taat kepada mereka. Kepada Akulah tempat kembali kamu semuanya, kemudian Aku akan menerangkan kepada kamu segala yang kamu telah kerjakan. | |
| German 8: | Und Wir haben dem Menschen anbefohlen, seinen Eltern Gutes zu tun. Doch wenn sie dich zwingen wollen, Mir das zur Seite zu stellen, wovon du keine Kenntnis hast, so gehorche ihnen nicht. Zu Mir werdet ihr heimkehren, (und) dann will Ich euch verkünden, was ihr getan habt. | |
| Russian 8: | Мы заповедали человеку быть добрым к родителям. А если они станут сражаться с тобой, чтобы ты приобщал ко мне сотоварищей, о которых ты ничего не знаешь, то не повинуйся им. Ко Мне предстоит ваше возвращение, и тогда Я поведаю вам о том, что вы совершали. | |
| Bosnian 8: | Mi smo svakog čovjeka zadužili da bude dobar prema roditeljima svojim. Ali, ako te oni budu nagovarali da Meni nekoga ravnim smatraš, o kome ti ništa ne znaš, onda ih ne slušaj. Meni ćete se vratiti, pa ću vas Ja o onome što ste radili obavijestiti. | |
| Urdu 8: | اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے اور اگر وہ تجھے اس بات پر مجبور کریں کہ تو میرے ساتھ اسے شریک بنائے جسے تو جانتا بھی نہیں تو ان کا کہنا نہ مان تم سب نے لوٹ کرمیرے ہاں ہی آنا ہے تب میں تمہیں بتا دوں گا جو کچھ تم کرتے تھے | |
| 9 | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِي الصَّالِحِينَ | |
| Transliteration 9: | Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lanudkhilannahum fee alssaliheena | |
| Yusuf Ali 9: | And those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous. | |
| Shakir 9: | And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most surely cause them to enter among the good. | |
| Pickthal 9: | And as for those who believe and do good works, We verily shall make them enter in among the righteous. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 9: | And for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and the other articles of Faith) and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall make them enter with (in the entrance of) the righteous (in Paradise). | |

| 10 | وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَاءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ | |
| Transliteration 10: | Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi faitha oothiya fee Allahi jaAAala fitnata alnnasi kaAAathabi Allahi walain jaa nasrun min rabbika layaqoolunna inna kunna maAAakum awa laysa Allahu biaAAlama bima fee sudoori alAAalameena | |
| Yusuf Ali 10: | Then there are among men such as say, "We believe in Allah.; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) Allah, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of Allah. And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation? | |
| Shakir 10: | And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. | |
| Pickthal 10: | Of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah's punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! we were with you (all the while). Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures? | |
| Mohsin Khan: 10: | Of mankind are some who say: "We believe in Allah." But if they are made to suffer for the sake of Allah, they consider the trial of mankind as Allah's punishment; and if victory comes from your Lord, (the hypocrites) will say: "Verily we were with you (helping you)." Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the breasts of the 'Alamin (mankind and jinn). | |
| French 10: | Parmi les gens il en est qui disent: ‹Nous croyons en Allah›; puis, si on les fait souffrir pour la cause d'Allah, ils considèrent l'épreuve de la part des hommes comme un châtiment d'Allah. | 18 | وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ | |
| Transliteration 18: | Wain tukaththiboo faqad kaththaba omamun min qablikum wama AAala alrrasooli illa albalaghu almubeenu | |
| Yusuf Ali 18: | "And if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the apostle is only to preach publicly (and clearly)." | |
| Shakir 18: | And if you reject (the truth), nations before you did indeed reject (the truth); and nothing is incumbent on the messenger but a plain delivering (of the message). | |

| Transliteration 19: | Awa lam yaraw kayfa yubdio Allahu alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun | |
| Yusuf Ali 19: | See they not how Allah originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for Allah. | |
| Shakir 19: | What! do they not consider how Allah originates the creation, then reproduces it? Surely that is easy to Allah. | |

| Transliteration 20: | Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa badaa alkhalqa thumma Allahu yunshio alnnashata alakhirata inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun | |
| Yusuf Ali 20: | Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things. | |

| Transliteration 22: | Wama antum bimuAAjizeena fee alardi wala fee alssamai wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin | |
| Yusuf Ali 22: | "Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper." | |
| Shakir 22: | And you shall not escape in the earth nor in the heaven, and you have neither a protector nor a helper besides Allah. | |

| Transliteration 23: | Waallatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi waliqaihi olaika yaisoo min rahmatee waolaika lahum AAathabun aleemun | |
| Yusuf Ali 23: | Those who reject the Signs of Allah and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will (suffer) a most grievous Penalty. | |
| Shakir 23: | And (as to) those who disbelieve in the communications of Allah and His meeting, they have despaired of My mercy, and these it is that shall have a painful punishment. | |
| Pickthal 23: | Those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in (their) Meeting with Him, such have no hope of My mercy. For such there is a painful doom. | |

| Transliteration 24: | Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo oqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjahu Allahu mina alnnari inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 24: | So naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But Allah did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe. | |
| Shakir 24: | So naught was the answer of his people except that they said: Slay him or burn him; then Allah delivered him from the fire; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe. | |

| 25 | وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ | |
| Transliteration 25: | Waqala innama ittakhathtum min dooni Allahi awthanan mawaddata baynikum fee alhayati alddunya thumma yawma alqiyamati yakfuru baAAdukum bibaAAdin wayalAAanu baAAdukum baAAdan wamawakumu alnnaru wama lakum min nasireena | |
| Yusuf Ali 25: | And he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides Allah, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, and ye shall have none to help." | |
| Shakir 25: | And he said: You have only taken for yourselves idols besides Allah by way of friendship between you in this world's life, then on the resurrection day some of you shall deny others, and some of you shall curse others, and your abode is the fire, and you shall not have any helpers. | |

| Transliteration 26: | Faamana lahu lootun waqala innee muhajirun ila rabbee innahu huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu | |

| Yusuf Ali 31: | When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime." | |
| Shakir 31: | And when Our messengers came to Ibrahim with the good news, they said: Surely we are going to destroy the people of this town, for its people are unjust. | |

| Yusuf Ali 33: | And when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who lag behind. | |

| Yusuf Ali 36: | To the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve Allah, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief." | |

| Transliteration 38: | WaAAadan wathamooda waqad tabayyana lakum min masakinihim wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli wakanoo mustabsireena | |
| Yusuf Ali 38: | (Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intelligence and skill. | |
| Shakir 38: | And (We destroyed) Ad and Samood, and from their dwellings (this) is apparent to you indeed; and the Shaitan made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so he kept them back from the path, though they were endowed with intelligence and skill, | |

| Transliteration 39: | Waqaroona wafirAAawna wahamana walaqad jaahum moosa bialbayyinati faistakbaroo fee alardi wama kanoo sabiqeena | |
| Yusuf Ali 39: | (Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us). | |
| Shakir 39: | And (We destroyed) Qaroun and Firon and Haman; and certainly Musa came to them with clear arguments, but they behaved haughtily in the land; yet they could not outstrip (Us). | |

| Transliteration 40: | Fakullan akhathna bithanbihi faminhum man arsalna AAalayhi hasiban waminhum man akhathathu alssayhatu waminhum man khasafna bihi alarda waminhum man aghraqna wama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 40: | Each one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not Allah Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls. | |
| Shakir 40: | So each We punished for his sin; of them was he on whom We sent down a violent storm, and of them was he whom the rumbling overtook, and of them was he whom We made to be swallowed up by the earth, and of them was he whom We drowned; and it did not beseem Allah that He should be unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own souls. | |

| 41 | مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ | |
| Transliteration 41: | Mathalu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa kamathali alAAankabooti ittakhathat baytan wainna awhana albuyooti labaytu alAAankabooti law kanoo yaAAlamoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 41: | The parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house;- if they but knew. | |
| Shakir 41: | The parable of those who take guardians besides Allah is as the parable of the spider that makes for itself a house; and most surely the frailest of the houses is the spider's house did they but know. | |

| Transliteration 42: | Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yadAAoona min doonihi min shayin wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu | |
| Yusuf Ali 42: | Verily Allah doth know of (every thing) whatever that they call upon besides Him: and He is Exalted (in power), Wise. | |
| Shakir 42: | Surely Allah knows whatever thing they call upon besides Him; and He is the Mighty, the Wise. | |

| Transliteration 44: | Khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena | |
| Yusuf Ali 44: | Allah created the heavens and the earth in true (proportions): verily in that is a Sign for those who believe. | |
| Shakir 44: | Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth; most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. | |

| Transliteration 45: | Otlu ma oohiya ilayka mina alkitabi waaqimi alssalata inna alssalata tanha AAani alfahshai waalmunkari walathikru Allahi akbaru waAllahu yaAAlamu ma tasnaAAoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 45: | Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do. | |
| Shakir 45: | Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book and keep up prayer; surely prayer keeps (one) away from indecency and evil, and certainly the remembrance of Allah is the greatest, and Allah knows what you do. | |

Verily, As-Salat (the prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha' (i.e. great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism, and every kind of evil wicked deed) and the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allah (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allah in prayers. | Transliteration 46: | Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheena thalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna biallathee onzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wailahuna wailahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 46: | And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our Allah and your Allah is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)." | |
| Shakir 46: | And do not dispute with the followers of the Book except by what is best, except those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our Allah and your Allah is One, and to Him do we submit. | |

| 47 | وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۖ وَمِنْ هَـٰؤُلَاءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا الْكَافِرُونَ | |
| Transliteration 47: | Wakathalika anzalna ilayka alkitaba faallatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yuminoona bihi wamin haolai man yuminu bihi wama yajhadu biayatina illa alkafiroona | |
| Yusuf Ali 47: | And thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan Arabs): and none but Unbelievers reject our signs. | |
| Shakir 47: | And thus have We revealed the Book to you. So those whom We have given the Book believe in it, and of these there are those who believe in it, and none deny Our communications except the unbelievers. | |
| Pickthal 47: | In like manner We have revealed unto thee the Scripture, and those unto whom We gave the Scripture aforetime will believe therein; and of these (also) there are some who believe therein. And none deny Our revelations save the disbelievers. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 47: | And thus We have sent down the Book (i.e. this Qur'an) to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those whom We gave the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) aforetime] believe therein as also do some of these (who are present with you now like 'Abdullah bin Salam) and none but the disbelievers reject Our Ayat [(proofs, signs, verses, lessons, etc.,) and deny Our Oneness of Lordship and Our Oneness of worship and Our Oneness of Our Names and Qualities: i.e. Islamic Monotheism]. | |
| French 47: | C'est ainsi que Nous t'avons fait descendre le Livre (le Coran). Ceux à qui Nous avons donné le Livre y croient. Et parmi ceux-ci, il en est qui y croient. Seuls les mécréants renient Nos versets. | |
| Spanish 47: | Y, así, te hemos revelado la Escritura. Aquéllos a quienes revelamos la Escritura creen en ella. Entre éstos hay algunos que creen en ella. Nadie rechaza Nuestros signos sino los infieles. | |
| Indonesian 47: | Dan demikian (pulalah) Kami turunkan kepadamu Al Kitab (Al Qur'an), maka orang-orang yang telah Kami berikan kepada mereka Al Kitab (Taurat) mereka beriman kepadanya (Al Qur'an); dan di antara mereka ; (orang-orang kafir Mekah) ada yang beriman kepadanya. Dan tidak adalah yang mengingkari ayat-ayat Kami selain orang-orang kafir. | |
| Melayu 47: | Dan (sebagaimana Kami telah menurunkan Kitab-kitab agama kepada Rasul-rasul yang telah lalu) demikianlah Kami turunkan pula kepadamu (wahai Muhammad) Kitab Al-Quran ini. | 48 | وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُو مِن قَبْلِهِ مِن كِتَابٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًا لَّارْتَابَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ | |
| Transliteration 48: | Wama kunta tatloo min qablihi min kitabin wala takhuttuhu biyameenika ithan lairtaba almubtiloona | |
| Yusuf Ali 48: | And thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted. | |
| Shakir 48: | And you did not recite before it any book, nor did you transcribe one with your right hand, for then could those who say untrue things have doubted. | |
| Pickthal 48: | And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst thou write it with thy right hand, for then might those have doubted, who follow falsehood. | |

| Transliteration 49: | Bal huwa ayatun bayyinatun fee sudoori allatheena ootoo alAAilma wama yajhadu biayatina illa alththalimoona | |
| Yusuf Ali 49: | Nay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs. | |
| Shakir 49: | Nay! these are clear communications in the breasts of those who are granted knowledge; and none deny Our communications except the unjust. | |
| Pickthal 49: | But it is clear revelations in the hearts of those who have been given knowledge, and none deny Our revelations save wrong-doers. | |
| Mohsin Khan: 49: | Nay, but they, the clear Ayat [i.e. the description and the qualities of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] are preserved in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge (among the people of the Scriptures). And none but the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). | |

| Transliteration 50: | Waqaloo lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi qul innama alayatu AAinda Allahi wainnama ana natheerun mubeenun | |
| Yusuf Ali 50: | Ye they say: "Why are not Signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The signs are indeed with Allah. and I am indeed a clear Warner." | |
